DAY 4 – BUENOS AIRES – MONTEVIDEO
Transfer to the port.
Buquebus ferry to Montevideo.
Meet and greet upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Montevideo was originally founded for military and commercial purposes, becoming an important military outpost and the main port of the Río de la Plata. Today, remnants of those times can still be found in the Old City, which preserves a significant part of this history. Montevideo also displays remarkable architectural treasures from the 20th century.

The city boasts examples of various periods, styles, and artistic movements—such as Art Nouveau and Art Déco—rarely seen together in other places.

Overnight.

DAY 5 – MONTEVIDEO
Our tour will take us through the Old City, visiting Plaza Matriz with the first potable water fountain of Colonial Montevideo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cabildo, Club Uruguay, Teatro Solís, and Independence Square with the monument and mausoleum of national hero General José G. Artigas, the Gateway of the Citadel, Palace of Justice, and Palacio Salvo.

We continue along 18 de Julio Avenue, the main commercial artery of downtown, and Plaza Fabini. We will also visit the Legislative Palace, headquarters of the Senate and House of Representatives—an impressive multicolored marble building surrounded by Avenida de las Leyes (visit subject to approval).

The tour continues through the historic residential area of Prado with its monuments—Los Últimos Charrúas and La Diligencia—the Presidential Residence, Government House, the Obelisk to the Constitution-makers of 1830, Batlle y Ordóñez Park, the athletics track, Monument to La Carreta, and Centenario Stadium.

We then proceed to the upscale residential neighborhood of Carrasco, including Carrasco Lawn Tennis, with a brief drive to appreciate its magnificent homes.

We return toward the city center along the beautiful Rambla Naciones Unidas, which connects the city’s different beaches, passing through Punta Gorda (with a stop at Plaza Virgilio for stunning panoramic views), Malvín, Buceo with its Yacht Port and Yacht Club, Pocitos, Punta Carretas, and the Golf Club.
