DAY 2 – COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO
Full-day tour of Colonia del Sacramento.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, Colonia del Sacramento invites visitors to step back in time to a charming Portuguese village.
Founded by the Portuguese and disputed for years by the Spanish and Portuguese crowns, it still preserves the magic of its history.

Its cobblestone streets, illuminated by traditional yellow lanterns, reveal countless historical and cultural attractions to discover and enjoy.
Highlights include Calle de los Suspiros, paved with wedge stones and lined with 18th-century houses; Portón de Campo, the old Portuguese city gate restored with its drawbridge, stone pillars, and walls; and the Portuguese Museum, located in a typical 1720s house displaying military uniforms, furniture, family coats of arms, ceramics, utensils, and period clothing.

Other must-see landmarks are the Lighthouse, Ruins of the Chapel and Convent of San Francisco, Casa Nacarello, Municipal Museum, Casa del Virrey, Regional Historical Archive, Tile Museum, Spanish Museum, Bastión del Carmen, Matriz Church, Yacht Port, Plaza Mayor, and Real de San Carlos Bullring.
